Cap.t Barry, Commander of the Frigate, United States War Office, 31 st March, 1798. Sir, It is represented, that the Frigate U.S. incommodes in her present Station the Merchant Vessels in coming and going out and that one equally good at the Bight opposite the Rope Walks where the Channel is wider, would occasion less risk and Embarrassment. --

If on Examination, that or any other Station can be found commodious and proper for the Frigate to lay in, I have to request that She be removed, to such Place as early as convenient, but should her Removal from her present Station, be attended with Risk or Inconvenience, you will be pleased to report the same without delay. --
