Extract of a Letter from Major Gaither to the Secretary of War, dated
7th September 1790.

Augusta September 3 .<sup>d</sup> , 1793.
Ordered, that Major Gaither be notified, that the critical situation of the frontier settlers at this period will not advised [?] of any departure from the present arrangement.

"The Militia now in service, appear to me to
