included in a general Return signed by Major [Dareling?], and as it is lengthy & contains all the issues made to the Troops under his command I have thought it unnecessary to send you copies of them- as the letter of the accountant directed to you at Oxford I include you. If it shall prove necessary to furnish copies of the Returns, it will be done on your signifying the same

an account of rations & Quarter Master supplies furnished by you to a Detachment of Troops under the command of Captain Ross Bird-- Before payment thereof can be made it is necessary that an Abstract should be forwarded signed by Capt. Bird showing the number of Commissioned, non Commissioned & Pvts the rations were drawn for, and it is also necessary that you forward each particular Bill of parcell for the purchases you made in the Quarter Master Department. if these bills cannot be obtained it will be proper that your oath should be annexed as to the quantum & reasonableness of the prices - I have written to Capt. Bird to this effect & requested him to forward the documents immediately
