I certify that there is due to Lieut' David Hall and the recruits under his command stationed at Ellis Island the sum of eighty nine dollars fifty three cents, being for his and their pay for December 1797 which sum is to be transmitted to Nicholas Fish supervisor at New York to be by him paid to the said Lieut' Hall who is to be held accountable for the due application of the sum.
