I certify that there is due to a detachment of the Corps of Artillerists and Engineers stationed at Fort Whetstone point the sum of Two hundred and thirty eight dollars and seventy three cents being for the pay of Lieutenant Samuel J. Dyson and the now Commissioned Officers and Privates of the said Detachment for July 1797 which sum is to be transmitted to John Kilty, Supervisor at Baltimore to be by him paid to the said Lieutenant Dyson who is to be held accountable for the due application thereof.

I certify that there is due to a Detachment of the 1st Regiment stationed at West Point for the service of the Ordnance Department the sum of Nineteen Dollars being for their Pay for June 1797 - which sum is to be transmitted to Nicholas Fish Supervisor New York and to be by him paid to George Heming Military Store Keeper who is to be held accountable for the due application thereof.
