I have called on Capt. De[?] by letter of the 8th Inst./ duplicate of which I have since sent to him requesting him to attend at this Office for the purpose of settling his accounts & refunding a large sum of money remaining in his hands- to which he has not paid the least attention. - As I understand that he has received a furlough, and intends leaving Town shortly, I have to request that you will be please to enforce my demand by one from you, before that takes place.
