Dear Sir, I request you to examin Capt James Waughs acct I got settled with you in July last. If you have charged him with the monies he received at different times to the amount of 480 dollars. Please to send me by 1 safe hand certificate for the same, as the Comptroller General has stop'd that sum on supposition that you did not charge him with the above sum. I am with due respect your most humble servant.
