Sir,
In compliance with your request I have examined the [undecipherable] of the late North Carolina line for arrearages of pay and subsistence due the officers of N.o Line for the Years 1782 & 1783 and finds that Capt. John Ingles has been omitted for his Subsistence this [undecipherable] I [undecipherable] [undecipherable] [undecipherable] from his [undecipherable] transmitting his account attested in his letter[undecipherable]he informs you that this has since been done &

[undecipherable] that W. Pierce had no objection to admitting his claim- I have searched the papers of W. Pierce [undecipherable] also the [undecipherable] claims, for Capt. Ingles account but without effect - I am of opinion that the sum of there is due Capt. John Ingles for his Subsistence for the year 1782 the Sum of One hundred nineteen 10/90 does from the 1 Jany. to the 1 May 1783 (as which period the war deranged) the Sum of Eighty eight 27/90 dols amounting to Two Hundred & Seven 37/90 does. which Sum should be paid him on his attesting that the [undecipherable] any person for him had received the Same or any part thereof-
