Gentlemen

When Major W Cree of the No. Carolina Linesmade Appreciation [at the] last May to the Bay--Marton Genl's Office for the 2 Months pay in 82 and 4 & in 83 to [?] with there how years Subtrtance Aloney, he was informed tat you were in daily Expectations of receiving some Returns, Accounts and other papers from Mr. Dart of the Southern [?], and that as soon as the said papers should come to your office, you would be Ready to Settle [with] for the said parts of pay with an Agent for any Members of officers of the said time------

As the Southern Mail goes-of to day and being Invoices to give to there officers every Satisfaction in my [?] on that Head: you would oblige a number of the officer, by [?] us whether their proxy to me, you would Settle for the mail Months pay, and whether it is [?] that they should drum up [an] [a] yrectrorly their Accounts against the United States for the Same--I wish he you would be so kind as to inform me, rather you hear received Mr Dart's Returns [?] [?]
