    These may certify that Mr Robert Cosby

received a wound in his knee, on the twenty second of Novbr. 1775 in an action with the Tories at Ninety Six in South Carolina, under the command of Majr. Williamson, and that he has been a uniform friend to the indepen dence of the United States of America 

    Certified the 12th April 1777
