West Point, Nov,, 30.th 1795

Sir, Your favor of the 21 instant I duly received. The five thousand dollars I received this day by Capt. Bruff, I receipted to him for them. I should have forwarded you before now a large packet of vouchers, had I not received the 20rh instant a letter from Major Hodgdon, in which he desires me to immediately go on with the inspection of the ordnance & military stores here, & furnish him with an accurate return of them, adding, nothing is of equal consequence with the return, that I must attend myself in preference to any other duties.
