                I herewith inclose you a receipt for Eighty Six Thousand four hundred and sixty Dollars paid by me to Caleb Swan Esquire, pay Master Troops United States, fifty Thousand Dollars of which ring pay for the Kentucky Volunteers - The remaining sum of thirty six Thousand four hundred and sixty Dollars, for pay, subsistence, and forage for the United States legion, which Monies were sent to me to Liet Col Com [undecipherable] Thomas Butler, to whome I have forwarded duplicate [undeciperable] [undecipherable]
