Sir Richmond October 22d, 1781


                By the inclosed account settled with Mr Dunscomb you will perceive I have given Credit for six months pay which I have not received, and which he informs me I am now to receive _ in money, notwithstanding the money I received from General Greene on account, which I have given credit for besides. By his direction I have also drawn upon you for the amount of my Rations for 1782 and 1783, which being Aid de Camp to General Greene - are three retained, the [undecipherable] of which you will please to Add to the account, as I do not know them -- I suppose it will be same as contracted for, for the supply of the Southern Army -- The Credit given by Abram Skinner is an order which I drew upon him when I was exchanged, and I never knew of his having accepted it; I applied to Mr Dunscomb
