Sir The accountant of the War Department being absent, it has become my duty to inform you that on Settlement of the account of nicklin & Griffith the Sum of Dolls. 383.80/100 has been paid them; being the amount of the purchase money of 2 Iron 9 Pound Cannon, & which appears by a letter from Cap't. Theodore Meminger Commandant at Fort Mifflin to have been received by him at the said Fort & remain there at this time. you are requested to make the necessary entries on the Books of your office.
