Sir,

Your letters of the 30 [sup] th [/sup] Ultimo are this moment come to hand _ I wish you could spare time to make out & transmitt a Statement of the several Sums you have remitted to me and of my Drafts you have Paid as Agent for the late QuarterMaster Gen.l, without such Statement I am not able to make a compleat settelment with him.

I had Expected that you would have been able to have told me who had taken charge of the War Department I have had some hopes that our old friend Henry may have an invitation --
