You stand charged on the books of this office with three hundred seventy two Dollars & 48/100, two hundred Dollars of which was placed in your hands on account of the Recruiting Service - & receipt dated 21 aug. 1798, the balance remaining out of monies placed in your hands for the pay of the Troops stationd at Fort Sorfolk, from 1 april to 31 July 1798 ~
I request you will immeditately forward your account
wit the necessary vouchers in order that the amount paid by
you may be passed to your credit, & the balance (if any
remains) you will please refund to the Treasurer of the U. S. to
close your account at this office ~

On the 1 March 1797 [undecipherable] n; 1887. For thirty two dollars & 87/100 was issued for your Commissions For receiving & paying monies from the Department of War to the 17 Dec, 1796, and transmitted to you by the Treasurer of the United States the receipt whereof you have not acknowledged to me. I have therefore to request you will send forward a receipt to this office for said sum to enable me to make the necessary entries on the Books thereof~ Sam [undecipherable] W.S.
