Sir,
I have received your letter of the 8' Instant concerning the return of Cloathing Clothing. The avails? to be forwarded under former orders will probably be shipped to day or to morrow.
Mr. Miller has the conducting of the transportation, and I will push him into the businefs business immediately. I have laid the cloathing clothing return before the Secretary, and shall have his direction relative to it shortly, when known it shall be communicated, and if received, it shall be forwarded in the most expeditious manner.
your account between us, as stated by ? is right, the balance, say Dollar 2 43/100 2.43 Shall be paid us soon as opportunity permits.

I have received your ? of the 5' Instant. since when I have again conversed with the Secretary of War on the subject. he assures me decisive measures are taken to put en end to that claim which has cost you and us so much trouble. I hope and believe you will be relieved by payment, and of course we shall be free from further application
