Regrets that iron purchased by Thomas Annelly has proved faulty. The iron requested is not at hand, but something will be managed. Acknowledges assistance of Mr. Brindley. Refers to human weakness and the discontent of Mackey's superintendent--hopes that strife and subordination will subside. Col. Bull is in town requesting drafts due. Wishes to know if men are discharged so he can stop their advances.
