106 Philadelphia 1st June 1798.
Sir, Besides the Kenkedge? at Elizabeth Town, that is about about forty eight tons more in New York. I believe in the case of Mr. John Blagg. I wish you to apply to him, and if found with him and not under previous order ship it to me as soon as pofsible possible. I have received your letter and shall wait impatiently the arrival of the Guns that & Kenkedge you mention would be shipped the day you wrote - all of them are wanted, but the Kenkedge most of all. Melanoton Smith Esq Philadelphia 1st june 1798. Sir, I have received your letter of the 25th ultimo. the draft received from Captain Heth say 160 Dollars stands to your credit in my Books, and the part disbursed as per former advice to your debit.
I will speak to the Storekeeper about the Cash Invoices and inform you. I had understood they were forwarded through the Secretary of War.. your Drafts will meet due honor
The Vouchers are received and appear to be those wanted am glad to find the President Adams has safely embraces her Element hope soon to hear she has a consort. Taylor's advance &c. Superintendant you say is to cease: but you should also inform me whether he does not continue in the employ as a common hand if so a certain advance may be yet necefsary necessary I shall however withhold until I hear form you again on the Subject.
