Extract from General Orders Head Quarters Fort Washington 12 May 1797 The Inspector will transmit to the accountant of the War Department, and will furnish the Pay Master General lists bearing the names and dates of Inlistment of the absentees who may be struck from the rolls, with a statement of the accounts of each individual, for which he is to call on the proper Officers.
