Mr. Revet missionary at this place, saw him this dep't and requested that he would tell all the Indians he could see to come to his room about 10:00 o'clock to see a Frenchman that then lived at Mr Vanderburgh's. Accordingly he, this dep't did, and attended himself, three Indians met, and Mr. Revet wrote to the said Frenchman to come. The Indians were ready. --- the Frenchman stayed so long that the Indians went away before he attended --- when he did come --- he the Frenchman Mr. Revet walked together along time, then this deponent went away and about 10:00 o'clock the next day the said Frenchman Mr. Revet this deponent, two Indians and some other people met at Mr. Revet's house the Indians took the Frenchman by the hand and said --- look at us we are very poor --- we are scattered like chickens --- we have no father nor mother nor village.
