On the 15th [x] requested Mayer [x] Craig acting as paymaster at Pittsburgh, to pay you seventy dollars being the amount of pay from 16th June the date of your acceptance to 30th September 1794 - I could have wished to have conveyed this money to your hands before your arrival at that place but have not been able to accomplish it consistently with the arrangement for remitting and paying money from this department.

The Treasurer is directed to remit you two thousand dollars to be transmitted to John Bryant Military Base keeper at Springfield on account of the incidental expenses of the Ordnance[?] department for which he is to be held accountable and the further sum of two hundred and seventy seven dollars and 50 cents to be paid.
