Sir, The Treasurer has remitted to John Chester Esq. Supervisor at Weathersfield the sum of 108.13 Cents which with the sum of 90 dollars and 50 Cents heretofore remitted him for Ensign Bifsell's recruits, making the sum of 198 dollars and 63 Cents, he is directed to place in your hands being for your pay from 1st April to 31st May inclusive, and of the recruits under your command between 1st January and 31st May 1794 which you will be pleased to pay and take receipts agreeably to the enclosed pay roll which with your receipt for your own pay you will transmit me as soon as you have made the payments. Ensign Bifsell is to recruit under your orders and is to settle with you if you advance him any money for that purpose he will take the receipt in your name and the bounty and premium be settled in your accounts I request you to be regular and correct in taking your vouchers and keeping your public accounts.
