Dear General,

Several of my Letters have not been so [illegible]

to [come?] to [Hands?] ~ I hope, this will arrive safe -- I have made so free, to enclose a Copy of a Letter, I have ventured to address to the President General. ~ The proposition is different of what I [illegible] of fully made in .86 --- I flatter myself You will soon see the Ad- vantages the United Government will recieve from such a Plan. At least the Survey and Inquiries may be of Service -- Your friendly Assistance in promoting the Acceptance of my Proposition, will oblige me very much and give me great satisfaction -- You may rely on it, I shal prove what I have mentioned in the Letter ~

Any Information I ^can give You from the Southern

States I shal do it with Pleasure. And I wait for Your Commands ----

Please present my respects to Mrs. Knox --
