[Typescript catalog entry 462. KNOX (GEN. HENRY). A.L.S. 1p. folio, New York, 1787 to Samuel Ogden. A cordial letter.]

My dear Sir__

I should have answered your favor of the 11th instant much sooner had the business been in such [forwardness?] that I could have written satisfactorily to you. Indeed at present it is in a pretty loose situation. I hope how- ever that [a few days?] will make some al- terations for the better. Mr. Morris who relishes the plan will probably set out from this city previously to the 26th instant. He will be able to give you all needful explanations.

I am sorry to learn that Mrs. Ogdens health is not perfect__ the [] of her visit is mortifying to Mrs. Knox. I shall not go to [] at present

I am my dear sir in your affectionate H. Knox

Sam Ogden Esqr
