Swan is writing in absence of Joseph Howell, who is apparently at Philadelphia attending to his dangerously sick wife. He reports on numerous accounts, inlcluding Mr. Alexander, Mr. Neufville, and Mr. Duer. There has been no further application yet made for General Putnam's or General Huntington's settlements. Howell's wife is something better and Joseph Howell hopes to return to New York.
