Yours of the [ ]. I have received [] its 'Contents' []my cas [] off for Maryland to Congress so that nothing can be done with respect to the settlement of the accts till his return. [] to your service I have paid Cap Howell [?] [] 'in' the Public Books . __________ I have recd from Major McPHerson 27th [-------] [----------------------] He promised me to make another payment soon, in that case I will forward both sums to you. or if you cannot draw on me for it at Suprs I would think [] [] if you can borrow the money.____ []
