Jn. Rogers Baltimore War Department 1 st May 1798 Sir, Your letter of the 17 th Ultimo, is received.
I have directed the sum of 3200 Dollars to be sent to Mr Kilty of Balt. by this day's Mail. for the recruiting Service &c . You will therefore draw on him for any Sum not exceeding 500 Dollars at one time, as the Nature of the Service may require it.
