Sir

I some time past write you a few lines acquainting you of my being a Soldier in y? 1st Pennsylvania Reg't one there is due near three Years pay. 

I am confined for the sum of Twenty eight pounds. The man is now satisfied if you secure him in twenty two pounds ten shillings which I request of you to do, and upon settlement shall make you a Genl? Compensation for the same, as it will be the means of enlarging Sir
