A question naturally here occurs, why this demand was not made before, & how the soldiers pay is long wanted by [illegible] officer dues? But is subject to the amount itself, it appears to be in general settlement of the pay & other allowances of your company from I suppose [ illegible] after it was raised up to the 15th March [illegible] at the time when I conclude it was discharged. it compounds also, come up [illegible] and advances to recruiting officers on the first I have to observe that it appears to me property in order to properly comprehend [illegible] part of the claim. that the commanding office had when [illegible] [illegible] pay & clothing that the [illegible certificsants] from Nance & Caldwells accounts had to furnished, as also the numbers and each other original Papers as [illegible] furnished procured.
