Dear Sir, I request you to examin Capt James Waughs acct I got settled with you in July last. If you have charged him with the monies he received at different times ^ from the Regular payment this year infer-------- of pay^ to the amount of 480 dollars. Please to send me by 1 safe hand certificate for the same, as the Comptroller General has stop'd that sum on supposition that you did not charge him with the above sum. I am with due respect your most humble servant.
