Dear Sir,
Some time ago I wrote you on the subject of my commutation, but have never heard from you. I suppose from this circumstance the letter never reached you. This has induced me to trouble you a second time. My commutation for five years as Capt. of Artillery amounts to three thousand Dollars at forty Dollars per month. The enclosed agreement will show it. If you will be kind enough to find me the bills or for the commutation you will
