As there is no evidence at the Treasury of Colonel Woods having ever accounted for the expendi= =ture of those monies--I have to request that you will inform me whether all or any part of the above mentioned sums have been carried to the debit of the said Colonel Wood, upon a settlement of his accounts at the pay office.
