Simeon North, Contractor at Berlin Conn.t for the manufacturing of Pistols has received a credit on the Books of this Office for four hundred & ninety Pistols delivered Joseph WIlliams Pay master & Store keeper at Ja.s Harris Storekeeper at Philadelphia you will therefore please to make the necessary entries on the Books of your Office, Jam.e WS.

Two receipts have been presented to this Office by Saml [undecipherable] Dana Esq. for the deliver of 500 Pistols agreebly to your Contract with the Sec.y of War dated the 6th February 1800 from which an account has been Stated wherein you are credited with thtem at 6 dollars each amounting to 3000 doll.s_ and debited with the monies received by you leaving a balance due to the United States of Four thousance seven hundred forty nine dollars & 33/100, for which sum you will be [undecipherable] account=able on the Books of this Office __I observe you have charged for 10 Pistols at the rate of 650/100 d.s each which cannot e admitted as it exceeds your Contract__
