Simeon North, Contractor at Berlin Conn.^t for the manufacturing of Pistols has received a credit on the Books of this Office for four hundred & ninety Pistols delivered Joseph WIlliams Pay master & Store keeper at Ja.^s Harris Storekeeper at Philadelphia you will therefore please to make the necessary entries on the Books of your Office, Jam.^e WS.

Two receipts have been presented to this Office by Sam^l [undecipherable] Dana Esq. for the deliver of 500 Pistols agreebly to your Contract with the Sec.^y of War dated the 6^th February 1800 from which an account has been Stated wherein you are credited with thtem at 6 dollars each amounting to 3000 doll.^s_ and debited with the monies received by you leaving a balance due to the United States of Four thousance seven hundred forty nine dollars & 33/100, for which sum you will be [undecipherable] account=able on the Books of this Office __I observe you have charged for 10 Pistols at the rate of 650/100 d.^s each which cannot e admitted as it exceeds your Contract__
