This is not a "Note from the Chiefs of the Creek Nation." It is a letter from Francisco de Paula Gelabert (not "Franco Gelabert") to Benjamin Hawkins in reply to a letter from Hawkins that enclosed a note from the Creek chiefs to the government of West Florida, which De Paula represented.
