429 which I request you to forward by the express of the Secretary of War, which left here a few days ago, if this should arrive two late for that opportunity I beg you to forward them by the first safe conveyance from Knoxville _ A letter is also enclosed for a Soldier in Tennessee, which I request you to forward__ I am [undecipherable] W.S. _________________________________________________________________ Capt. John Bishop 2 C Regt. of [undecipherable] Scotch Plains near Elizabeth Town (N. J.) Accountants Office November 27, 1799 Sir I wrote you on the 4 Septr. & 14 October respecting a number of improper charges exhibited in the accot. of James Little Contractor being for articles furnished by your order. to which I have never received any answer, the object of this is therefore to request you to send on all the original returns appertaining to said accounts, and now on your possession & to explain the causes of purchase of uniform clothes, of cooking utensils & a ten Plate Stove, hire of horse to go to mill, also upon what principle you drew the wood for the use of your Detachment as there appears to have been more drawn than is allowed by the fuell regulations_ These explanations you must be sensible are necessary passing of your accounts - as you cannot be ignorant that the most of the articles if wanted, should have been drawn (after permission from the Secr. of War) from the Public Stores_ I am [undecipherable] W.
