Accountant's Office October 31" 1799

Sir I have received your letters, one dated the 18 of Septr. Ult. & the other the 9 Inst. — the first enclosing two Packages from M. Lovell at the Natchez, the other accompd by the abstracts & vouchers therein mentioned all of which will be filed subject to the proper examination —

My Brother is arrived safe & is appointed Paymaster to the Regt of Dragoons, his box has not yet come to hand if you have not forwarded it, he requests me to beg the favor of you to do it by the first safe conveyance as it contains sundry papers & artifacts that he is very much in want of —

Sir I have this day received your letter of the 24 Ult. & noted its contents — agreeably thereto I now enclose you the settlement of Samuel Marshall's accots (as made on the 17 Ult) with the original seven vouchers — which you will please to look over for your satisfaction, & returned them to this Office with such observations & additional vouchers as you may think necessary
