100 Samuel Hodgson New York Oct 0.1799 Sir I am directed by Major General Hamilton to apply to you for the necessary carpenters tools for the huts of the 11.12. & 13th. regiment on Green Brook within 9 miles of New Brunswick State of New Jersey. Col. William Smith commander, you had better direct those tools to him, he will be in ground by Monday next. The boards & nails I shall purchase here & if more [undecipherable] to you the tools also. I have no time to prove the [undecipherable] of arms you directed, the removal of these regiments will occupy my time for a week I am with great respect Wm Stevens
