Sir, A Pay Roll for yourself, Ensign Samuel Crutchfield, and the Recruits under your command of the 30th of November 1797 has been stated from the Muster Rolls transmitted to this Office, and amounts to Four hundred & Sixty seven dollars & 36/100 which sum you will receive from Edward Carrington Esq. Supervisor, Richmond (on your giving him duplicate receipts therefore) and disburse the same agreeably to the enclosed Receipt Roll, but previous to paying John Wilson it will be necefsary necessary for you to procure a Certificate from the paymaster setting forth the time he was last paid to or if you are acquainted with the Circumstance yourself, your own Certificate will answer the same purposes by annexing it to the receipt roll.
