Sir,
I, received by last Mail a letter from
Barnard Gaines who stands charged at this office with One hundred and Eleven dollars, and one from Yelverton Peyton who is indebted on last settlement one dollar, the enclosures are the answers thereto which are left open for your perusal, after which you will please seal and transmit them as directed.

I received your letter of the 13th June last
and approve of your mode of closing your account with Caleb Swan Paymaster Genrreal to the Troops of the United States, when that settlement takes place/which I hope will bas early as lays in your power) you will please transmit a Certificate from the PMS that I may be enabled to make the necessary entries on the Book's of this Office.
