Mr. Edmund J. Quincy Accounts Office Superintendant of the July 12th, 1797 Navy Yard at Portsmouth 

            Sir

                     I received your letter of the 5th Inst. enclosing your account for salary as  superintendant of the navy yard at Portsmouth from 1st April to 30th  June 1 797 inclusive amounting to One hundred dollars which sum you will receive as usual from Joshua Wentworth Esq. Supervisor at Portsmouth, on giving him duplicate receipts for the same.

      Sir

                         The Treasurer of the United States will send you the sum of four hundred twenty one dollars and eighty four cents which you will please pay to Lieutenant Andrew Marchall and take this duplicate receipts for the same, it being for six months Pay & Subsistence allowed him as a  deranged officer by the Act of Cengress of 5th March last.
