Lieut. George Hardy. West Point
D. of War. Accountant's Office June 19th 1795
Sir, You will recieve from Nicholas Fisher Esq. the sum of Fifty two Dollars being for your Pay for January and February 1795 for which sum you will give him duplicate receipts to be forwarded to this office. The reason for your not receiving the money sooner is that your Pay was made up for the period in Capt.Black[...]'s Roll and you having left Virginia before Mr Ca[...]ington[...] recieved the money - it was returned here, and your Pay was made up in Capt. Br[...]ff's Roll from 1st January to 30th April - but thru' some mustake it appears he paid you but for the months of March and April. Your pay in future will be made up in the Pay Roll of the Troops at West Point. -
