Onieda Jan ^ry 5^th 1792 Sir,, I have the Honor to Acquaint you of my arrival here, with a number of the Oneida Chiefs whom I conducted back from Albany of which General Schuyler to whom was much obliged has doubtless given you informa-tion after holding several Councils ^{with the Oneidas} & their allies agreeably to Indian usages The two Runners Capt^t John & Peter [undecipherable] - set out with Col^l. Pickerings invitation speech yesterday morning for Buffaloe Creek. After [unclear] dispatching them was obliged to sit in Council the rest of the day. By the accounts which the Oneidas [undecipherable - possible & others] have [undecipherable] from the westward the defeat of our Army has very much alarmed the Senekas, & even the whole Six Nations. A message has been sent to the Senekas & Cap^t Brant from the western Indians reporting their inten-tion to list the Six Nations the ensuing [undecipherable] unless they join the western Confederacy. they have particularly [undecipherable word crossed out] demanded vengeance against Cap^t Brant & his village for refusing to join them & act with them the last fall which they said he had [undecipherable].
