Sir By Direction of the Secretary for the Department of War I have enclosed you the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars on post notes of the Bank of North America which notes you will please to turn into cash and transmit to Lieut John Jeffries command at Fort Franklin the Notes are one of the following numbers viz No 267-268-269-270-271 & 272 cash for twenty five dollars. I will thank you to acknowledge the receipt of this letter by the return of the post
