Ephraim Morgans [added by other hand undecipherable] amount is settled right by the State of Connecticut and [undecipherable] Stevens has accounted for the sum he received from the State. David [ added by other hand Brigadeer] Judson[?] has received from me a final Settlement Certificate for his pay from 20th July 1779 to 1st Aug 1780 and the State have Paid him for 5/? Months of the same time. The Settlement with Simeon [illegible added by other hand][undecipherable meta data says Belding] I do not understand. The first charge is 6 Mo as Quarter Master in the years 177. I know of no first Officers except Regimental Quarter Master. The other charge is as Brigadr Quarter Master @ [4?] Dollars per Mo--this may be right if he was no an Officer in the Line at the Same time in which case he was entitled to 15 Dollars per month and no more. There is no Act of Congress authorizing a [revision?] of Settlements made with Officers in the Qrter Masters Dept for the purpose of allowing de- preciation_____ Jon.
