I am thus far on my return, but am impeded by some business here for I believe two weeks, that I hope soon to leave this the latter end of next week. The letters inclosed I thank you either to deliver or throw into the post office and any for me from the South and should they escape me here, I wish you to enclose one. Sir Three of your Certificates No. 157,741 No 15742 for 786 dollars each and 15,743 for 788 dollars, dated the 4th of Jan 1784, in favor of Mr. John Noyes are lodged in this office by WMr. Noyes, to draw the Interest. on comparing them with the copy of your register I find No. 15,741 &15,742 for 524 dollars ea., & 15,743 for 525 dollars in favor of John Noyes, the dates and private marks corresponding as these certificates are brought by Mr. Noyes himself, and there is not the least appearance of alteration in the Certificates, I conclude your Register must be errone[] in this instance ____ as I shall postpone paying the interest 'till I hear from you, I must request and early answer.
