Philadelphia February 28th 1784

Sir

Inclosed is the estimate I mentioned to you when I had the pleasure of seeing you last_ and is I believe the total amount due from the Department of Military Stores in Virginia__ M.r Fitzsimmonshas an Order on me for the balance due John and James Calloway, I have given him to understand that the payment would be made in Notes, which he has agreed to take__ If it is not convenient to issue the Notes for the while estimate, I must intreat that a considerable part of it may; as many of the people are distress'd and some of them uneasy
