Sir

By a Letter from M.r Benj.n Huntingdon dated New Haven 4th instant address'd to the Superintendent Finance, it appears there are a considerable number or quantity of Military Stores lying without regard in several places in the State of Connecticut, particularly in Harford [sic], upon receipt of this I have to request that you immediately make diligent enquiry for all such Stores, & being found that you take measures to have them removed to Springfield & deposited under your immediate direction in common with those already at that depository, perhaps you may find it necessary to call on M.r Huntingdon for a particular enumeration of the places where they may be found, as several are alluded to in his Letter, if a personal application is necessary you will make it, the expences of which, with those attending any Stores that may be found shall be paid on receipt of the Accounts, _have only to request, that in future by every possible means you will endeavor to prevent any farther applications of this kind in the Vicinity of your charge as they are disresputable to the Dep.t at large__ Make me a retun of any that may be received in consequence of this Letter____
