I have received the letter addressed to the Quarter Master General, and Ordered to be forwarded to him immediately__must inform you Colonel Pickering set off from West point for Boston on the 14th instant in company with General Knox and the other returning Officers__ previous to which, by letter he informs one that it was his intention to be in the City the beginning of February__ the Post being gone and the probabiliyt of a special Messenger's missing him, obliges me to request you further direction, If I, or his assistants at Camp can act upon the letter, it shall be attended to immediately__
