[upper left hand corner] Philadelphia Jan. 16 1784

Sir

I take the liberty to inclose the accounts I mentioned to you in a former Letter, you will please to observe they are made up to the 1.st January 1783___ I also inclose a number of Certificates for the purpose of receiving a warrant for the amount they were given by the Iron Masters for Hessians received, which are to be deducted from their respective balances, agreeable to the dates of receival, which will in some instances curtail the interest as calculated, a circumstance that on final Settlement will be duly attended to, I am not certain that the receipts no produced contains all the Hessians de-livered, but as the returns have not been regularly made to the war Office by the numerous Officers authorized to negociate the business, I mean to take a declaration on Oath, or on honour as you dictate, from each of the Iron Masters previous to Settlement relative to the number received___ have only to add, that in the way I had the honour to propose in my last, or on some other way more agreeable to you I wish to be enabled to close this business, as I am unhappy on having to carry the sums paid to each in advance forward on my quarterly settlement.

Honorable Supert of Finance S.H
